OFWs in Dubai and Northern Emirates have been registering to the upcoming tuition-free computer training since 1 August 2008. Online registration has proved to be a hit with prospective participants, with over 1,000 online registrations received from August 1 to 16 alone.

The computer courses are being conducted by the Filipino Computer Club (FCC), the first and longest running computer club and recognised leader in Information Technology education programme for UAE Filipino community, in partnership with the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Overseas Labour Office - Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO-OWWA) in Dubai.

The quick and easy online registration process, hosted by www.ofwzone.com, allows interested participants to complete an online registration form even if they are on vacation anywhere in the world.

This is just one of the many ways that the FCC meets the needs in its training programs.

The most popular course, MS Excel, got 160 registrants followed by Intro to Information technology and MS Word with 130 and 128 respectively. For the advanced courses, Advanced Excel got the most number with 88 followed by Adobe Photoshop for the Web and Network Administration Essentials with 75 and 56 respectively. There are 12 subjects being offered by FCC from Basic to Advance including complete web and personality development courses.
