Filipino Computer Club to Offer New Workshop

The Filipino Computer Club (FCC), the first and longest running computer club and recognized leader in technology education programs in UAE Filipino community since 1996, will offer new workshop in Practical Networking from January this year according to Professional Development Committee chairman Eng. Milo Torres.

Workshops in FCC are open to all its members for free.

Current FCC workshops include PC Hardware Configuration and Assembly.

Eng. Torres said the Practical Networking workshop will offer essential skills in PC networking as well as file, database and Internet sharing.

“Participants of the workshop will be prepared to connect several PCs, configure the system and share files, database and Internet throughout the network,” he said. He added that FCC graduates of PC Hardware Configuration and Assembly workshop will have an advantage to participate in this new workshop.

“Graduates of the PC Hardware Configuration and Assembly workshop will have the skills to configure and assemble their own system,” he said. The two workshops are established to further enhance the skills and knowledge of all members of the club not only in using the software but also in knowing the hardware components and its functions.

FCC’s tuition-free training programs lined up for Jan-Apr 2009 season include Introduction to Information Technology for beginners, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Basic HTML coding which are open to all Filipinos in UAE. FCC offers Advanced Excel, MS Access, Flash Animation, Adobe Photoshop for the Web, Network Administration (Essentials and Infrastructure) and Personality Development in Speech Craft and Toastmasters for its membership.
